قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَٰبٍ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمَآ أَتَّبِعْهُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Say, ‘Then bring a Book from Allah which is a better guide than these two, that I may follow it, if you are truthful.’

Say, ‘Then bring a Book from Allah which is a better guide than these two Books, that I may follow it, if you are truthful.’[2912]

Commentary:

The verse alludes to the very high position which both the Quran and the Torah hold among heavenly Scriptures, the Quran being par excellence the best among the revealed Books and the Torah standing only second to it. It further says to disbelievers that if the revelations of the Quran and the Torah do not satisfy them, then let them produce a Book which is better suited to be humanity’s guide and which has brought about greater transformation in the lives of men than these Books have done.

English - Short Commentary Translation

Say, ‘Then bring a Book from Allah which is a better guide than these two Books[2221]––the Torah and the Qur’an—that I may follow it, if you are truthful.’

The verse alludes to the very high position which both the Qur’an and the Torah hold among heavenly Scriptures, the Qur’an being par excellence the best among the revealed Books and the Torah taking the second place.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

تُو کہہ دے کہ اگر تم سچے ہو تو اللہ کی طرف سے کوئی ایسی کتاب تو لاؤ جو اُن دونوں (یعنی تورات اور قرآن) سے زیادہ ہدایت دینے والی ہو تو میں اُسی کی پیروی کروں گا۔

French

Dis : « Alors, apportez un Livre de la part d’Allāh qui soit un meilleur guide que ces deux Livres – la Torah et le Coran – afin que je puisse le suivre, si vous êtes véridiques. »

German

Sprich: "So bringet ein Buch von Allah herbei, das eine bessere Führung ist als diese beiden*, damit ich ihm folge, wenn ihr wahrhaftig seid."

Chinese

你说: “(如果穆撒、哈伦、穆罕默德的话是虚假的,) 如果你们是诚实的, 那么, 你们就从安拉那里带来比这两部经典更能引导人的经典,[964]以便我信从它。”

这节经文提到, 在天经中 «古兰经» 和 «摩西五经» 都有很高的地位。«古兰经» 是最高的, 在所有安拉启示的经典中是最好的, 而 «摩西五经» 占第二位。

Di': «Portate dunque un libro da Allah, che sia una guida migliore di questi due libri, la Torah e il Corano, così che io possa seguirlo, se siete veritieri.»

Diles: Traed pues un Libro de Al‑lah que sea mejor guía que estos dos -la Torah y el Corán- para que lo siga, si sois verídicos”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

تو کہہ دے کہ (اگر موسیٰ اور ہارون اور محمد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سب کی باتیں جھوٹی ہیں تو) اگر تم سچے ہو تو اللہ کے پاس سے ایک ایسی کتاب لاؤ جو ان دونوں کتابوں سے زیادہ ہدایت دیتی ہو تا کہ میں اس کی اتباع کروں۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(اے نبیؐ،) ان سے کہو، "اچھا تو لاؤ اللہ کی طرف سے کوئی کتاب جو اِن دونوں سے زیادہ ہدایت بخشنے والی ہو اگر تم سچے ہو، میں اسی کی پیروی اختیار کروں گا"

Say, "Then bring a scripture from Allah which is more guiding than either of them that I may follow it, if you should be truthful."

کہہ دو پس الله کے ہاں سے کوئی ایسی کتاب لاؤ جو ان دونوں سے ہدایت میں بڑھ کر ہو کہ میں اس پر چلوں اگر تم سچے ہو
