وَأَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَآنٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَقْبِلْ وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْءَامِنِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And it also said: ‘Throw down thy rod.’ And when he saw it move as though it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not wait. ‘ O Moses, come forward and fear not; surely thou art of those who are safe.

And it also said: [b]‘Throw down thy rod.’ And when he saw it move as though it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not look back. ‘O Moses, come forward and fear not; surely thou art of those who are safe;[2897]

English - Short Commentary Translation

[*] [c]And it is also said, ‘Throw down thy rod.’ And when he saw it move as though it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not look back. ‘O Moses,’ said the voice, ‘Come forward and fear not; surely, thou art of those who are safe,

In the original translation of the Short Commentary a part of the verse i.e. وَاَنْ is left out. In the Five Volume Commentary the verse is translated fully. After the insertions of the translation of the relevant phrase in the present translation, the first clause of the verse will read as: “And it also said, ‘Throw down thy rod’.” (Publisher)

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور ( کہا گیا) کہ اپنا عصا پھینک۔ پس جب اُس نے اُس (عصا) کو دیکھا کہ وہ حرکت کر رہا ہے گویا سانپ ہو تو وہ پیٹھ دکھاتا ہوا مُڑ گیا اور پلٹ کر بھی نہ دیکھا۔ اے موسیٰ! آگے بڑھ اور نہ ڈر۔ تُو یقیناً سلامت رہنے والوں میں سے ہے۔

Et la voix dit aussi : « Jette ton bâton par terre. » Et lorsqu’il le vit se mouvoir comme si c’était un serpent, il tourna le dos et s’éloigna sans se retourner. « Ô Moïse, avance et ne crains pas ; sûrement tu es de ceux qui sont en sécurité.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور یہ کہ تو اپنا عصا پھینک دے۔ پس جب اس نے اُس (عصا) کو حرکت کرتے ہوئے دیکھا گویا کہ وہ ایک چھوٹا سانپ[2] ہے‘ وہ پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگا اور پیچھے مڑ کر نہ دیکھا (تب اسے کہا گیا) اے موسیٰ! آگے بڑھ اور ڈر نہیں تو سلامتی پانے والے لوگوں میں سے ہے۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور (حکم دیا گیا کہ) پھینک دے اپنی لاٹھی جونہی کہ موسیٰؑ نے دیکھا کہ وہ لاٹھی سانپ کی طرح بل کھا رہی ہے تو وہ پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگا اور اس نے مڑ کر بھی نہ دیکھا (ارشاد ہوا) "موسیٰؑ، پلٹ آ اور خوف نہ کر، تو بالکل محفوظ ہے

English - Sahih

And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it was a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, approach and fear not. Indeed, you are of the secure.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

اور یہ کہ اپنی لاٹھی ڈال دے پھر جب اسے دیکھا کہ سانپ کی طرح لہرا رہا ہے تو منہ پھیر کر الٹا بھاگا اور پیچھے مڑ کر نہ دیکھا اے موسیٰ! سامنے آ اور ڈر نہیں بے شک تو امن والوں سے ہے

And [that] throw your staff." But when he saw it moving as if it (were) a snake he turned (in) flight and (did) not return. "O Musa! Draw near and (do) not fear. Indeed, you (are) of the secure.

'Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent, he turned about retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, come forward, and fear not; for surely thou art in security.'

He received the command: "Throw away your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned back in retreat, and did not even look behind. (He was told): "O Moses, go ahead and have no fear. You are perfectly secure.

Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent, he turned about and fled without turning. "O Moses, approach," (said the Voice), "and have no fear. You will be safe.
