حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ

Until, when We seize those of them who indulge in luxury with punishment, behold, they cry for help.

Until, [b]when We seize those of them who indulge in luxury with punishment, behold, they cry for help.[2554]

Important Words:

یجئرون (they cry for help) is derived from جأر which means, he (a bull) lowed. جأر الی اللّٰه means, he raised his voice in prayer or supplication; he cried out or called for help; he humbled himself with earnest supplication to God. جأرت الارض means, the herbage of the land grew tall (Lane & Aqrab).

Until, [e]when We seize with punishment those of them who indulge in luxury, behold, they cry for help;

یہاں تک کہ جب ہم ان کے خوشحال لوگوں کو عذاب کے ذریعہ پکڑ لیتے ہیں تو اچانک وہ چیخنے چلانے لگتے ہیں۔

Jusqu’à ce que Nous saisissions par le châtiment ceux d’entre eux qui vivent dans le luxe, et voilà, ils crient au secours !

Hasta que, cuando caigamos con el castigo sobre quienes se entregan a la ostentación, griten pidiendo ayuda;

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

یہاں تک کہ جب ہم ان میں سے آسودہ حال لوگوں کو عذاب میں گرفتار کر لیتے ہیں تو اچانک وہ فریادیں کرنے لگ جاتے ہیں۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

یہاں تک کہ جب ہم ان کے عیاشوں کو عذاب میں پکڑ لیں گے تو پھر وہ ڈکرانا شروع کر دیں گے

Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help.

یہاں تک کہ جب ہم ان میں سے آسودہ حال لوگوں کو عذاب میں پکڑیں گے فوراً وہ چلائیں گے
