وَأَلْقِ مَا فِى يَمِينِكَ تَلْقَفْ مَا صَنَعُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّمَا صَنَعُوا۟ كَيْدُ سَٰحِرٍ ۖ وَلَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلسَّاحِرُ حَيْثُ أَتَىٰ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘And throw that which is in thy right hand; it will swallow that which they have wrought, for that which they have wrought is only a magician’s trick. And a magician shall not thrive, come where he may.’

And cast that which is in thy right hand; [a]it will swallow that which they have wrought, for that which they have wrought is only a magician’s trick. And a magician shall not thrive, come where he may.’[2289]

Important Words:

تلقف (swallow) is derived from لقف (laqifa). They say لقف الشیء: he hastily took the thing. لقف الطعام (laqqafa) means, he swallowed up the food (Aqrab).

Commentary:

The verse makes it clear that it was the rod of Moses and not anything else which "swallowed" that which the magicians had wrought, and which undid their magic. The rod of Moses wielded with the spiritual force of a great Prophet and thrown at the command of Almighty God exposed the deception that the magicians had wrought on the spectators by their magic. Elsewhere in the Quran the staves and cords of the magicians have been described as their lies (7:118).

English - Short Commentary Translation

‘And cast that which is in thy right hand; [a]it will swallow that which they have wrought,[1835] for that which they have wrought is only a sorcerer’s trick. And a sorcerer shall not thrive, contrive[1835A] what he may.’

7:118; 26:46.

The verse makes it clear that it was the rod of Moses and not anything else which "swallowed" that which the sorcerers had wrought, and which undid their sorcery. The rod of Moses wielded with the spiritual force of a great Divine Prophet and thrown at the command of Almighty God exposed the deception that the sorcerers had wrought on the spectators by their tricks. Elsewhere in the Qur’an, the staves and cords of the sorcerers have been described as their lies (7:118).

Atash-Shai’a means, he did the thing (Lane).

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جو تیرے داہنے ہاتھ میں ہے اسے پھینک دے جو کچھ انہوں نے بنایا یہ اسے نگل جائے گا۔ انہوں نے جو بنایا ہے وہ محض ایک جادوگر کا شعبدہ ہے اور جادوگر جس جہت سے بھی آئے کامیاب نہیں ہوا کرتا۔

French

Et jette ce qui est dans ta main droite ; il avalera ce qu’ils ont fabriqué, car ce qu’ils ont fabriqué n’est qu’un tour de magicien. Et un magicien, d’où il vient, ne peut réussir à déjouer le plan d’Allāh . »

German

. Wirf nur, was in deiner Rechten ist; es wird verschlingen, was sie gemacht haben, denn das, was sie gemacht haben, ist nur eines Zauberers List. Und ein Zauberer soll nicht Erfolg haben, woher er auch kommen mag."

“抛掷你右手里所有的; [e]它将会吞没他们所 (精心) 作成的。因为他们所形成的只是魔术师的魔术。不论魔术师怎样来 (与安拉对抗), 总是不会成功的。”

Getta quel che hai nella mano destra, e ingoierà ciò che essi hanno fatto, poiché quello che hanno fatto non è che un trucco da maghi. E un mago non prospererà, dovunque vada.»

“Arroja lo que hay en tu mano derecha; se tragará lo que ellos han forjado, pues lo que han forjado no es más que trucos de magos. Y un mago no puede triunfar sea cual sea su origen”;

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جو کچھ تیرے دائیں ہاتھ میں ہے اس کو زمین پر ڈال دے۔ جو کچھ انہوں نے کیا ہے اس سب کو وہ نگل جائے گا (یعنی اس کا بھانڈہ پھوڑ دے گا) انہوں نے جو کچھ کیا ہے وہ تو فریب کاروں کا ایک فریب ہے اور فریب کار جس طرف سے بھی آئے (خدا کے مقابلہ میں) کامیاب نہیں ہو سکتا۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

پھینک جو کچھ تیرے ہاتھ میں ہے، ابھی اِن کی ساری بناوٹی چیزوں کو نگلے جاتا ہے یہ جو کچھ بنا کر لائے ہیں یہ تو جادوگر کا فریب ہے، اور جادوگر کبھی کامیاب نہیں ہو سکتا، خواہ کسی شان سے وہ آئے"

English - Sahih

And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is."

او رجو تیرے دائیں ہاتھ میں ہے ڈال دے کہ نگل جائے جو کچھ انہوں نے بنایا ہےجو کچھ کہ انہوں نے بنایا ہے صرف جادوگر کا فریب ہے اورجادوگر کا بھلا نہیں ہوتا جہاں بھی ہو
