فَأْتِيَاهُ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولَا رَبِّكَ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَلَا تُعَذِّبْهُمْ ۖ قَدْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۖ وَٱلسَّلَٰمُ عَلَىٰ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ

“So go ye both to him and say, ‘We are the Messengers of thy Lord; so let the children of Israel go with us; and afflict them not. We have indeed brought thee a Sign from thy Lord; and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;

English - Five Volume Translation

So go ye both to him and say, ‘We are the Messengers of thy Lord; so let the children of Israel go with us; and afflict them not. We have, indeed, brought thee a great Sign from thy Lord; and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;[2269]

Commentary:

"A Great Sign" in this verse may be taken as referring to the whole teaching or message of Moses because he had already shown two Signs to Pharaoh—the Sign of the rod and of the white hand, and not one. The word الھدی i.e. "guidance" also seems to support the above significance of "a Sign." Thus آیة signifies the whole teaching of Moses and not a particular part of it or one or two of his miracles. Or the word may refer to the promise of peace and security which God had given to Moses and of Divine punishment with which Pharaoh had been threatened.

“So go ye both to him and say, ‘We are the Messengers of thy Lord; so let the Children of Israel go with us; and torment them not. We have, indeed, brought thee a great Sign from thy Lord: and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس تم دونوں اس کے پاس جاؤ اور اسے کہو کہ ہم تیرے ربّ کے دو ایلچی ہیں ۔ پس ہمارے ساتھ تُو بنی اسرائیل کو بھیج دے اور انہیں عذاب نہ دے۔ یقیناً ہم تیرے ربّ کی طرف سے ایک بہت بڑا نشان لے کر آئے ہیں اور جو بھی ہدایت کی پیروی کرے اس پر سلامتی ہو۔

French

Allez donc tous deux à lui, et dites : 'Nous sommes les Messagers de ton Seigneur ; alors laisse partir les Enfants d’lsraël avec nous ; et ne les tourmente pas. Nous t’avons apporté en vérité un Signe de la part de ton Seigneur ; et la paix sera sur celui qui suit la direction ;

German

So gehet denn beide hin zu ihm und sprecht: "Wir sind zwei Gesandte deines Herrn; so lasse die Kinder Israels mit uns ziehn; und bedränge sie nicht. Wir haben dir in Wahrheit ein Zeichen von deinem Herrn gebracht; und Frieden auf den, der der Führung folgt!

“所以你俩到他那里去, 并 (对他) 说: ‘我们是你养主的使者。要你放以色列人随我俩 (出境);不要迫害他们。我们从你养主那里带来了一个大的迹象; 凡是遵行正道的人, (安拉) 将降赐他们平安;

Andate dunque entrambi e ditegli: “Noi siamo i messaggeri del tuo Signore. Lascia dunque venire con noi i figli d'Israele, e non tribolarli. In verità, ti abbiamo portato un segno da parte del tuo Signore; e sia pace su colui che segue la guida.

Spanish

“Id, pues, a él y decidle: “somos los Mensajeros de tu Señor; deja pues que los hijos de Israel salgan con nosotros; y no los atormentes. Pues en verdad te hemos traído un Signo de tu Señor; y la paz será con quien siga la guía”;

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پس دونوں اس کے پاس چلے جاؤ اور اسے کہو ہم دونوں تیرے رب کے رسول ہیں۔ پس ہمارے ساتھ بنی اسرائیل کو بھیج دے اور ان کو تکلیفیں مت دے۔ ہم تیرے پاس تیرے رب کی طرف سے ایک بڑا نشان لے کر آئے ہیں اور (تجھے بتاتے ہیں کہ) جو (شخص ہماری لائی ہوئی) ہدایت کے پیچھے چلے گا (خدا کی طرف سے) اس پر سلامتی نازل ہوگی۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

جاؤ اس کے پاس اور کہو کہ ہم تیرے رب کے فرستادے ہیں، بنی اسرائیل کو ہمارے ساتھ جانے کے لیے چھوڑ دے اور ان کو تکلیف نہ دے ہم تیرے پاس تیرے رب کی نشانی لے کر آئے ہیں اور سلامتی ہے اُس کے لیے جو راہِ راست کی پیروی کرے

English - Sahih

So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

سو تم دونوں اس کے پاس جاؤ اورکہو کہ بے شک ہم تیرے رب کی طرف سے پیغام لے کر آئے ہیں کہ بنی اسرائیل کو ہمارے ساتھ بھیج دے اور انہیں تکلیف نہ دے ہم تیرے پاس تیرے رب کی طرف سے نشانی لے کر آئے ہیں اور سلامتی اس کے لیے ہے جو سیدھی راہ پر چلے

So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance!

So, go to him, and say: 'Behold, both of us are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not chastise them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace shall be for him who follows the true guidance.
