وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ ۖ وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And surely We sent Messengers before thee to their own people, and they brought them clear Signs. Then We punished those who were guilty. And it was certainly due from Us to help the believers.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اوریقیناً ہم نے تجھ سے پہلے کئی رسولوں کو اُنکی قوم کی طرف بھیجا۔ پس وہ ان کے پاس کھلے کھلے نشانات لے کر آئے تو ہم نے ان سے جنہوں نے جرم کئے انتقام لیا اور ہم پر مومنوں کی مدد کرنا فرض ٹھہرتا تھا۔
French
Et assurément, avant toi Nous avons envoyé des Messagers à leurs propres peuples. Et ils leur ont apporté des signes clairs. Ensuite Nous avons châtié sans ménagement ceux qui étaient coupables. Et il Nous incombait certainement de venir en aide aux croyants.

Wir schickten schon Gesandte vor dir zu ihrem eigenen Volk. Sie brachten ihnen klare Beweise. Dann straften Wir die Schuldigen; und es oblag Uns, den Gläubigen zu helfen.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور ہم نے تجھ سے پہلے کئی رسول ان کی قوموں کی طرف بھیجے تھے پس وہ ان کے پاس کھلے کھلے نشان لے کر آئے اور ہم نے مجرموں سے مناسب بدلہ لیا‘ اور مومنوں کی مدد کرنا ہمارا فرض ہے۔

اور ہم نے تم سے پہلے رسُولوں کو ان کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا اور وہ ان کے پاس روشن نشانیاں لے کر آئے، پھر جنہوں نے جرم کیا اُن سے ہم نے انتقام لیا اور ہم پر یہ حق تھا کہ ہم مومنوں کی مدد کریں

And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support of the believers.

English - Arberry
Indeed, We sent before thee Messengers unto their people, and they brought them the clear signs; then We took vengeance upon those who sinned; and it was ever a duty incumbent upon Us, to help the believers.

. Ensuite, après lui, Nous avons envoyé des Messagers à leurs peuples respectifs, et ils leur ont apporté des preuves manifestes. Mais ils n’ont pas voulu y croire, parce qu’ils les avaient repoussées auparavant. Ainsi scellons-Nous les cœurs des transgresseurs.

Dann schickten Wir nach ihm (andere) Gesandte zu ihrem Volk, und sie brachten ihnen klare Beweise. Allein sie wollten nicht (an sie) glauben, weil sie sie zuvor verworfen hatten. Also versiegeln Wir die Herzen der Übertreter.

پھر اس کے بعد ہم نے اور (بھی کئی) رسول اپنی (اپنی) قوم کی طرف بھیجے اور وہ ان کے پاس روشن نشانات لے کر آئے تو وہ (لوگ) اس سبب سے کہ (اس سے پہلے) اس (صداقت) کو جھٹلا چکے تھے (اس پر) ایمان نہ لائے۔ ہم حد سے بڑھنے والوں کے دلوں پر اسی طرح مہر لگایا کرتے ہیں۔

God does not arbitrarily seal up the hearts of disbelievers; it is the disbelievers who, by their own stubborn and unjustified refusal to listen to the Word of God, deprive themselves of the ability to see and accept the truth. They are themselves the architects of their evil destiny.

Commentary:
This verse makes it quite clear that it is not God Who arbitrarily seals up the hearts of disbelievers but it is the disbelievers themselves who, by their stubborn and unjustified refusal to listen to the word of God, become deprived of their power to see and accept the truth. They themselves are the architects of their evil destiny and not God Who only proclaims the things already brought about by their own persistent transgression. The act of sealing up the hearts of disbelievers is attributed to God because He is the Final Judge Who pronounces the verdict.

پھر نوحؑ کے بعد ہم نے مختلف پیغمبروں کو اُن کی قوموں کی طرف بھیجا اور وہ اُن کے پاس کھلی کھلی نشانیاں لے کر آئے، مگر جس چیز کو انہوں نے پہلے جھٹلا دیا تھا اسے پھر مان کر نہ دیا اس طرح ہم حد سے گزر جانے والوں کے دلوں پر ٹھپہ لگا دیتے ہیں
