[1] رَهِبَ , aor. رَهَبَ , inf. n. رَهَبٌ (S, A, * Msb, K) and رُهْبٌ (S, K) and رُهُبٌ (Ksh and Bd in xxviii. 32) and رَهْبٌ (K) and رَهْبَةٌ, (S, A, * K,) or this is a simple subst, (Msb,) and رُهْبَانٌ and رَهَبَانٌ, (K,) He feared: (S, A, Msb, K:) or he feared with caution. (TA.) You say, فِى قَلْبِى مِنْهُ رَهْبَةٌ and رَهَبٌ [In my heart is fear, or cautious fear, of him, or it]. (A.) ― 2-b2- And رَهِبَهُ, inf. n. رَهْبَةٌ (JK, Mgh) and رُهْبَةٌ and رُهْبٌ and رَهَبٌ; (JK;) [and app. رَهِبَ مِنْهُ, as seems to be indicated above;] He feared him, or it; (JK, Mgh;) [or feared him, or it, with caution;] namely, a thing. English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And when the anger of Moses was appeased, he took the tablets, and in their writing there was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جب موسیٰ کا غصہ جاتا رہا تو اُس نے تختیاں پکڑ لیں اور انکے مندرجات میں ہدایت اور رحمت تھی ان لوگوں کےلئے جو اپنے ربّ کا خوف رکھتے ہیں۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جب موسیٰ کا غضب ذرا ٹھنڈا ہوا تو اس نے (وہ) تختیاں (جن پر احکام الٰہی لکھے ہوئے تھے پھر) اٹھالیں اور ان کے لئے جو اپنے رب سے خوف کرتے ہیں ان (تختیوں) کی تحریر میں رحمت اور ہدایت موجود تھی۔

And when the anger of Moses subsided, he took the Tablets and [c]in their writing there was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord.

And when the anger of Moses was appeased, he took the tablets, and [b]in their writing there was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord.[1044]

Important Words:

سکت (was appeased) means, he was or became silent, mute or, speechless; he was or became still and quiet; he died. سکت غضبه means, his anger became appeased, allayed or stilled. سکت عنه الغضب means, his anger became stilled or appeased so that it departed from him (Lane).

نسختھا (its writing). نسخة is derived from نسخ which means: (1) he or it annulled or superseded or cancelled or abrogated or changed or altered (something); (2) he copied or transferred a writing, letter for letter. So نسخة means, copy or transcript, so called because it supplies the place of the original; also a copy or an original from which a transcript is made (Lane). Thus the word نسخة does not exactly mean a "writing", though, for the sake of convenience, it has been translated as such.

پھر جب موسیٰؑ کا غصہ ٹھنڈا ہوا تو اس نے وہ تختیاں اٹھا لیں جن کی تحریر میں ہدایت اور رحمت تھی اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو اپنے رب سے ڈرتے ہیں

English - Sahih

And when the anger subsided in Moses, he took up the tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord.

اور جب موسیٰ کا غصہ ٹھنڈا ہوا تو اس نے تختیوں کو اٹھایا اور جو ان میں لکھا ہو ا تھا اس میں ان کے واسطے ہدایت اور رحمت تھی جو اپنے رب سے ڈرتے ہیں
