يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا تَنَٰجَيْتُمْ فَلَا تَتَنَٰجَوْا۟ بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَتَنَٰجَوْا۟ بِٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِىٓ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

O ye who believe! when you confer together in secret, confer not for the commission of sin and transgression and disobedience to the Messenger, but confer for the attainment of virtue and righteousness, and fear Allah unto Whom you shall all be gathered.

English - Five Volume Translation

O ye who believe! when you confer together in secret, confer not for the commission of sin and transgression and disobedience to the Messenger, but confer for the attainment of virtue and righteousness, and fear Allah unto Whom you shall all be gathered.[4179]

Commentary:

In this and the preceding two verses secret societies such as Freemason Lodges, etc. have been condemned, but the condemnation is not unreserved or unqualified. There may be secret conferences held for good purposes. It is the object or motive of a particu1ar conference that determines its nature. In the present verse the believers have been allowed to hold secret conferences only to promote good and righteous causes.

English - Short Commentary Translation

O ye who believe! when you confer together in private, confer not for the purpose of promoting sin and transgression and disobedience to the Messenger, but confer for the purpose of promoting virtue and righteousness,[3007] and fear Allah unto Whom you shall all be gathered.

In this and the preceding two verses secret societies have been condemned, but the condemnation is not unqualified. The believers have been allowed to hold secret conferences to promote good and righteous causes.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اے وہ لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو! جب تم باہم خفیہ مشورے کرو تو گناہ، سرکشی اور رسول کی نافرمانی پر مبنی مشورے نہ کیا کرو۔ ہاں نیکی اور تقویٰ کے بارہ میں مشورے کیا کرو اور اللہ سے ڈرو جس کے حضور تم اکٹھے کئے جاؤ گے۔

French

Ô vous qui croyez ! lorsque vous conférez ensemble en secret, ne conférez donc pas pour commettre le péché et la transgression, et pour la désobéissance au Messager, mais conférez pour atteindre la vertu et la piété, et craignez Allāh auprès de Qui vous serez tous rassemblés.

German

O die ihr glaubt, wenn ihr euch heimlich miteinander beredet, beredet euch nicht zu Sünde und Übertretung und Ungehorsam gegen den Gesandten, sondern beredet euch zu Tugend und Rechtschaffenheit, und fürchtet Allah, zu Dem ihr versammelt werdet.

信仰的人啊! 当你们秘密地共同商议时, 不要为 (鼓励) 犯罪、越规和违背使者 (的目的) 而商议, 但要为 (增进) 美德和敬畏 (的目的)[1406]而商议,你们要敬畏你们被集合到他那里去的安拉。

在这节以及上两节经文中, 秘密结社遭到了谴责, 但谴责不是绝对的。信者们可以进行不公开的商议, 以促进善良而正义的事业。

Italian

O voi che credete! Quando conferite tra voi in privato, non fatelo per favorire il peccato, la trasgressione e la disobbedienza al messaggero, ma fatelo per conseguire la virtù e la giustizia. E temete Allah, alla Cui presenza sarete tutti radunati.

Spanish

¡Oh vosotros, los creyentes! Cuando habléis en secreto, no habléis para cometer pecado, trasgresión y desobediencia al Mensajero, sino sobre la manera de alcanzar la virtud y la justicia, y temed a Al-lah, hacia Quien seréis todos reunidos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اے مومنو! جب کبھی خفیہ مشورہ [2]کرو تو گناہ کی بات اور زیادتی کی بات پر خفیہ مشورے نہ کیا کرو اور نہ رسول کی نافرمانی کی باتوں پر۔ بلکہ نیکی کی باتوں پر اور تقویٰ کی باتوں پر مشورہ کیا کرو‘ اور اللہ کا تقویٰ اختیار کیا کرو‘ جس کی طرف تم سب کو (زندہ کرکے) لوٹایا جائے گا۔

یہاں خُفیہ مشورہ سے مراد وہ مشورہ ہے جو نیکی کے متعلق ہو۔ اور آیت۱۱ میں جس مشورہ سے منع کیا گیا ہے وہ ایسا مشورہ ہے جو بَدِی کے متعلق ہو اور وہ جائز نہیں جیسا کہ اسی آیت میں اس کا ذکر کیا گیا ہے۔ پس دونوں آیتوں میں کوئی اختلاف نہیں۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، جب تم آپس میں پوشیدہ بات کرو تو گناہ اور زیادتی اور رسول کی نافرمانی کی باتیں نہیں بلکہ نیکی اور تقویٰ کی باتیں کرو اور اُس خدا سے ڈرتے رہو جس کے حضور تمہیں حشر میں پیش ہونا ہے

English - Sahih

O you who have believed, when you converse privately, do not converse about sin and aggression and disobedience to the Messenger but converse about righteousness and piety. And fear Allah, to whom you will be gathered.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

اے ایمان والو جب تم آپس میں سرگوشی کرو تو گناہ اور سرکشی اور رسول کی نافرمانی کی سرگوشی نہ کرو اورنیکی اور پرہیز گاری کی سرگوشی کرو اور الله سے ڈرو جس کی طرف تم جمع کیے جاؤ گے

English - Talal Itani

O you who believe! When you hold secret counsel then (do) not hold secret counsel for sin and aggression and disobedience (to) the Messenger, but hold secret counsel for righteousness and piety. And fear Allah, the One Who, to Him you will be gathered.

在这节以及上两节经文中, 秘密结社遭到了谴责, 但谴责不是绝对的。信者们可以进行不公开的商议, 以促进善良而正义的事业。

O believers, when you conspire secretly, then conspire not together in sin and enmity and disobedience to the Messenger, but conspire in piety and godfearing. Fear God, unto whom you shall be mustered.
