And when it is recited unto them, they say, ‘We believe in it. Verily, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed, even before it we had submitted ourselves to God.’

[a]And when it is recited unto them, they say, ‘We believe in it. Verily, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed, even before it we had submitted ourselves to God.’[2915]

And when it is recited unto them, they say. ‘We believe in it. Verily, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed, even before it we had submitted to its teaching.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جب ان پر (قرآن ) پڑھا جاتا ہے تو وہ کہتے ہیں ہم اس پر ایمان لے آئے۔ یقیناً یہ ہمارے ربّ کی طرف سے حق ہے۔ یقیناً ہم اس سے پہلے ہی فرمانبردار تھے۔

French

Et quand il leur est récité, ils disent : « Nous y croyons. En vérité, c’est la vérité de la part de notre Seigneur. En fait, même avant ceci, nous nous étions soumis à Allāh. »

German

Und wenn sie ihnen vorgetragen wird, sagen sie: "Wir glauben daran. Wahrlich es ist die Wahrheit von unserem Herrn; wir hatten uns schon vordem (Gott) ergeben."

当有人在他们面前诵读 «古兰经» 时, 他们说: “我们信仰它。这是来自我们养主的真理。我们在那天之前, 已经是归顺者。”

Italian

E quando è recitato a loro, dicono: «Noi ci crediamo. Per certo, è la verità che viene dal nostro Signore. Invero, già prima di ciò ci eravamo sottomessi a Dio.»

Y cuando se les recita, dicen: “Creemos en él. Ciertamente es la verdad de nuestro Señor. En verdad, incluso antes de él nos habíamos sometido a Dios”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جب وہ (قرآن) ان کے سامنے پڑھا جاتا ہے تو وہ کہتے ہیں ہم اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں۔ یہ ہمارے رب کی طرف سے برحق کلام ہے ہم تو اس دن سے پہلے ہی مسلمان تھے۔

اور جب یہ اُن کو سُنایا جاتا ہے تو وہ کہتے ہیں کہ "ہم اِس پر ایمان لائے، یہ واقعی حق ہے ہمارے رب کی طرف سے، ہم تو پہلے ہی سے مسلم ہیں"

And when it is recited to them, they say, "We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, [even] before it, Muslims [submitting to Allah]."

Commentary:

The verse means to say that when prophecies about the revelation of the Quran and the Holy Prophet are recited to them—"the People of the Book," the God-fearing among them believe in it—the Quran—saying that they had already expected such a revelation to come.
