And when they returned to their father, they said, ‘O our father, a further measure of corn has been denied us, so send with us our brother that we may obtain our measure, and we will surely take care of him.’

English - Five Volume Translation

And when they returned to their father, they said, ‘O our father, further measure of corn has been denied us, so send with us our brother that we may obtain our measure, and we will surely be able to take care of him.’[1565]

English - Short Commentary Translation

And when they returned to their father, they said, ‘O our father, any further measure of corn has been denied us, so send with us our brother that we may obtain our measure, and we will surely be able to take care of him.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس جب وہ اپنے باپ کی طرف لَوٹے تو انہوں نے کہا اے ہمارے باپ! ہم سے ماپ روک دیا گیا ہے۔ پس ہمارے بھائی کو ہمارے ساتھ بھیج تاکہ ہم ماپ حاصل کرسکیں اور یقیناً ہم اس کے ضرور محافظ رہیں گے۔

Et quand ils furent de retour auprès de leur père, ils lui dirent : « Ô notre père, une nouvelle ration de blé nous a été refusée ; envoie donc avec nous notre frère, afin que nous obtenions notre ration, et assurément nous le surveillerons bien. »

German

Als sie zu ihrem Vater zurückgekehrt waren, sprachen sie: "O unser Vater, ein (weiteres) Maß (an Korn) ist uns verweigert worden, so schicke unseren Bruder mit uns, dass wir Maß erhalten, und wir wollen ihn hüten."

当他们回到他们父亲那里, 他们 (对他) 说: “我们的父亲啊! 我们被禁止得粮了, 求你派我们的弟弟与我们同去, 以便我们得以得粮。我们一定会保护他的。”

E quando tornarono dal loro padre, gli dissero: «O padre nostro, ci sono state negate altre misure di grano; manda quindi con noi nostro fratello, così che possiamo ottenere la nostra misura, e noi certamente avremo ben cura di lui.»

Y cuando regresaron ante su padre dijeron: “Oh, padre nuestro, se nos ha negado una medida adicional de grano, envíanos pues a nuestro hermano para que obtengamos nuestra medida, pues ciertamente cuidaremos de él”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پس جب وہ اپنے باپ کے پاس واپس گئے تو کہا (کہ) اے ہمارے باپ ہمیں (آئندہ کے لئے) غلہ سے محروم کر دیا گیا ہے اس لئے (اب) ہمارے بھائی (بن یامین) کو (بھی) ہمارے ساتھ بھیج کہ ہم پھر غلہ لے سکیں۔ اور ہم یقیناً اس کی حفاظت کریں گے۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

جب وہ اپنے باپ کے پاس گئے تو کہا "ابا جان، آئندہ ہم کو غلہ دینے سے انکار کر دیا گیا ہے، لہٰذا آپ ہمارے بھائی کو ہمارے ساتھ بھیج دیجیے تاکہ ہم غلہ لے کر آئیں اور اس کی حفاظت کے ہم ذمہ دار ہیں"

So when they returned to their father, they said, "O our father, [further] measure has been denied to us, so send with us our brother [that] we will be given measure. And indeed, we will be his guardians."

پھر جب اپنے باپ کے ہاں پہنچے کہا اے باپ! ہمارا پیمانہ روک لیا گیا پس آپ ہمارے ساتھ ہمارے بھائی کو بھیج دیجیئے کہ ہم پیمانہ لائیں اور بے شک ہم اس کا نگہبان ہیں

Mark the audacity of Joseph’s brothers revealed in the words, we will surely be able to take care of him. The former spirit of boastfulness still seems to cling to them.
